Endowed Assets

While there are many significant functions of the Foundation, one of the more important aspects is that of the investment of endowed assets. The Foundation’s Board of Governors is responsible for approving all Foundation investment policies and guidelines, which state that the investment purpose of the Foundation’s Endowed Assets is consistent with an overall balanced objective of liquidity and safety of principal.

In strict adherence to this policy, the Investment Committee of the Board provides investment recommendations based on the advice of the Endowment Advisory Council — a ten member council composed of mostly local investment brokers, investment lawyers and CPAs — who spend a significant amount of time and energy monitoring the Foundation's endowed assets.

Investment of these assets by the Foundation is on a pooled basis with various investment managers. As of June 30, 2008, the Foundation Endowed Assets had a market value of $90.3 million.
